Bionic Buzz® attended the Hollywood screening of Turn it Around: The Story of East Bay Punk at the ArcLight in Hollywood. This documentary follows the East Bay punk rock scene from the late 70’s to mid 90’s. If you are fan of bands like Green Day, Operation Ivy, Jawbreaker, Mr. T Experience, etc then this is a must see for yourself. The film features many heavy hitters in the rock/punk world including Billie Joe Armstrong, Kirk Hammett, Tre Cool, Tim Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, Duff McKagan, Davey Havok, Lars Frederiksen, & more.
The movie is almost 3 hours long. At first I was like how am I gonna sit through a doc for that long? But it flew bye so quickly. After the screening there was a panel / Q&A that was moderated by Corbett Redford the films’ writer, producer, and co-director. You can see our picture with him we took before the screening. Featured on the panel was Jesse Michael’s lead singer of Operation Ivy & other people who work on the film. This is a shorter version of the hour plus panel featuring raw footage from iPhone.
