With his unbridled enthusiasm, keen expertise, Charles lavishes spirited commentary on the very best of his spectacular collection vintage slides of Main Street USA, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland and Tomorrowland. This time travel adventure is an extravaganza of your favorite long-gone attractions, the original Tomorrowland when it was promoted as ‘The World of 1987, ‘ the all-new Tomorrowland in 1967, even the interior of Disney’s ultra space age, House of the Future.

Bob Gurr, the legend himself, will share stories of the iconic work he did at Disneyland including Autopia, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Main Street vehicles, the out-of-this-world Monorail and more! You will never experience Disneyland the same way again! Your imagination will be inspired and your spirit will soar like never before!

Charles Phoenix was born to celebrate classic and kitsch American life and style. He is an entertainer, author, and chef. He is known for his retro slide shows, coffee table books, field trip tours and JOYRIDE video series on Facebook. On TV he has appeared on Jay Leno, Conan O’Brian and Martha Stewart. His latest books are Holiday Jubilee and Addicted to Americana.

At the conclusion of this fabulous presentation, we’ll honor the man the myth, Legendary Disney Imagineer, Bob Gurr – “King of Americana Theme Park Vehicle Design” followed by a Q & A session with Bob hosted by Charles Phoenix. From March 9th – August 30th 2020 Bower’s Museum in Santa Ana is proud to present, “Inside the Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic.” The exhibition celebrates The Walt Disney Company on the 50th anniversary of its archives, with behind-the-scenes access never before granted to the public.
The 10,000-square-feet traveling exhibit, which premiered at D23 Expo Japan in 2018, will offer several rare items only on loan to the Bowers.

As a very special pre-event ticket upgrade, 40 lucky guests in total will have the rare opportunity to tour the exhibit with Legendary Disney Imagineer, Bob Gurr as their guide. Only 2 tour times available. Guests are invited to step into The Walt Disney Archives as they walk through a dazzling display of more than 400 objects, including original artwork, costumes, and props that tell the story of the Archives, The Walt Disney Company, and Walt Disney himself. From nostalgic classics like never-before-displayed sketches for Fantasia and ghouls from the Haunted Mansion attraction, to modern-day favorites like super hero costumes and maquettes from Frozen, this enchanting exhibition is an immersive treasure-trove the entire family will love. Guests will be treated to a private tour of the Disney Archives with their host Bob Gurr as he leads them through the exhibit highlighting various items which he had a personal hand in designing or has a special connection to.

Each guest will receive a signed Bob Gurr Collector’s license plate and have reserved seating in the theater’s first or second row as well as priority access to Bob following the show for photo ops.  Tours will accommodate no more than 25 guests at a time. Only 2 tour times available listed below. Tours are approximately 1 hour in length.

Ticket holders for the 4:30 p.m. archives tour with Bob Gurr may check-in no earlier than 4:00 p.m. Your tour will conclude approximately at 5:30 p.m. Doors to the theater will open for your group at 6:30 p.m. Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the tour once it has begun nor will they be allowed to join the later tour. Please arrive on-time. No refunds or adjustments for missed tours.

6:00 p.m. Archives Tour
Ticket holders for the 6:00 p.m. archives tour with Bob Gurr may check in no earlier than 5:30 p.m. You will be allowed into the theater immediately following your tour. Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the tour once it has begun. Please arrive on-time. No refunds or adjustments for missed tours.

RESERVED SEATING DETAILS: 
Mark I VIP ticket holders have reserved seating in either the first or second row depending on your tour time and ticket price. Although you are guaranteed seating in your respective row, you do not have a specifically reserved seat within that row.
