Bionic Buzz got to attend as media to the Extraordinary: Stan Lee a tribute event last night at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA. The event featured many celebrities and special guests on stage or the red carpet. The night featured a look back at his storied career from his early childhood to the golden/silver age of comics books up to his cameos in Marvel movies. I’m someone who is very passionate about Marvel & Stan Lee and I even learned new things about him. The Extraordinary: Stan Lee live show was broadcasted in more than 180 movie theaters through out North America. While the event was amazing, there were a ton of microphone problems on stage. Also the video messages from celebrities that were broadcasted on stage were extremely dark and hard to see. One of the videos wasn’t even edited correctly with the actress screwing up her line and then you see her take two of the video. Doh! You can tell Stan Lee was very frustrated with he mic issues throughout the night. Most mics on stage did not work at times or some backstage were on so you can hear people talking in them. I felt bad for people who paid top dollar for VIP tickets and the event featured crappy AV equipment.

What saved the event is the superhero host Chris Hardwick who kept things positive, funny and flowing. His skills shined during the crisis on stage and you can see why Chris has a ton of hosting jobs on TV. Bravo Chris! This event also helped raised money through Omaze for Stan Lee’s favorite charity Make-A-Wish foundation. Here are some of the highlights of the show that we posted on social media. Speaking of Guardians of the Galaxy: Inferno. A music video was made for the song. It was directed by James Gunn (GOTG/Vol 2 Director) along with David Yarovesky. At the event they had the costumes from the music video along with standees for photo ops. Check out my photo with David Yarovesky and his fiancé Autumn Steed who created all the costumes in the music video. Check out more photos below. All red carpet photos by Jeff Lewis. By @SteveSievers
